Instructional Designer and Trainer
Position Description
PSNI is currently seeking applications for the position of full-time Instructional Designer and Trainer to join our customer support team at our fast-paced office in Amherst, NH. Candidates should have a strong background in curriculum development and delivery in virtual and in person settings and be exceptionally detail and oriented. This multi-faceted position is responsible for collaborating with our training team to design, develop and deliver in-person and virtual live trainings to our customers and internal staff on a cyclical basis as well as providing customer support and onboarding management support via phone, email, chat, virtual connections.
Responsibilities
- Collaboratively research, create, and deploy technical training in the use of our software to clients and employees
- Lead existing projects related to training paths and needs assessments with our clients and employees; preparing reports to identify gaps, as well as recommend solutions
- Create, maintain and update materials (on-demand video library, course outlines, background material, instructional modules, and training aids) based on our current & evolving technologies utilizing a variety of media including but not limited to power point presentations, pdfs, and prerecorded material
- Utilize Learning Management Software (LMS) to document, track, report, automate educational courses, and manage training materials
- Deliver virtual and onsite classroom training while periodically recording webinars for electronic delivery
- Domestic travel is required to client sites as needed throughout the year to deliver training (approximately 25 times a year) with heaviest travel June through September
- Serve as an internal consultant to assist managers in meeting associate development training needs and performance objectives
- Facilitate and manage the implementation of new client accounts and projects for existing clients
- Providing customer support involving diagnosing, clarifying and resolving support requests
Skills
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills and a positive demeanor are essential
- Proficient time management, possessing the ability to manage multiple projects, responsibilities and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Highly articulate, detail-oriented, yet able to simplify complex concepts into non-technical terms for greater understanding
- Knowledge of the activities associated with the design, delivery and evaluation of effective software training programs
- Ability to work independently with strong organization skills, discipline, and persistence
- Familiar with client, network, hosted, and Internet related applications such as E-Mail, FTP and Web Browsers
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must be trustworthy and have strong communication skills. As this is a client-centered area of activity, he/she must have strong customer, interpersonal and communications skills as well as a good sense of organization.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

- Highly proficient in use of technology including Microsoft programs in a Windows based environment
- Candidate must pass a NH criminal background check
Education/Experience
- Associates or Bachelor degree, certificate or credential in field associated with Adult Education
- Instructional design and delivery
- Software training a plus
- Use of Learning Management Systems
- Video development and editing
- Nursing or Health informatics education and experience preferable
