Junior I/T Specialist
Description
We are seeking a proactive and eager Junior IT Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will assist in providing technical support, troubleshooting, and helping maintain our organization’s IT infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for technology to gain hands-on experience and grow in the IT field.
Responsibilities
Technical Support: Provide first-line support to end users for hardware, software, and network issues. Troubleshoot problems and escalate unresolved issues as needed.
- System Administration: Assist with the maintenance and configuration of computer systems, servers, and network equipment. Perform routine system tasks such as updates, patches, and backups.
- Hardware & Software Installation: Support setup and deployment of IT equipment including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals. Install and configure software applications and maintain inventory list.
- User Account Management: Help manage user accounts, permissions, and security access in systems such as Active Directory.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and accurate documentation of IT systems, support procedures, and recurring issues to support knowledge sharing.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Familiarity with Windows, macOS, and/or Linux operating systems
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- A strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies
Education / Experience
- 2 years of experience in a Help Desk or similar support role
- 2 years of experience managing or maintaining network equipment
- 2 years of experience using PowerShell or other scripting tools
- 2 years of experience with Active Directory administration
- Proficiency in Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2019+ environments
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds; occasional lifting of 50+ pounds with assistance may be required
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred — or 4 years of equivalent professional experience
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CNE, or CCNA are a plus but not required
