Gabi is an amazing school nurse. In addition to being highly competent and knowledgeable in her profession, Gabi is incredibly kind, and compassionate and truly cares about her students. Gabi works with students with moderate to severe autism and her warm and welcoming personality has allowed her to excel at making meaningful connections with each of them. She has developed rapport with many students who were previously fearful of medical professionals and has worked with them to provide desensitization to medical procedures such as a blood pressure checks, ear exams, and more. The work she has done with these students has helped them to go on to have successful annual physicals and doctor’s appointments. Many parents have expressed how life-changing this has been for them and their child. In addition, her patience is unmatched, and she continually strives to find ways to effectively communicate with her students, especially those who may not be able to self-report symptoms of illness or discomfort. She is a preferred staff member to many and is one of the most dedicated nurses out there. She inspires others every day and Crossroads Continuum School is so lucky to have her.
