It is with great pride that I nominate Nurse Bausemer for the School Nurse Superstar Award. She embodies the core values of advocacy, respect for dignity, and justice and fairness in every aspect of her work—making her a trusted, compassionate presence in our school community. While Nurse Bausemer is a dedicated advocate for all students, she has gone above and beyond to support our LGBTQ+ youth. She consistently creates a safe, inclusive space where students are affirmed, respected, and empowered. By using her own time to offer additional support and visibility to LGBTQ+ students, she ensures they are seen, valued, and never alone. Her unwavering commitment to equity and fairness is matched by her strength as a change agent. Nurse Bausemer speaks up for those who may not yet have a voice and works to improve school policies and practices that impact student health and belonging. A true leader by example, she sets a high standard of professionalism, compassion, and integrity. Her collaborative spirit and willingness to go the extra mile make her an invaluable partner to staff and families alike. Nurse Bausemer is more than a school nurse—she is a fierce advocate, a trusted adult, and a shining example of what it means to lead with heart and purpose.
