I am honored to nominate Candace Gayfield as our Superstar School Nurse for the Sherburne-Earlville Central School. Being our shared nurse, she is required to become familiar with all of our students throughout the school district. She is very caring and compassionate, and makes sure each student feels very important when they enter the Health Office. No matter how busy the office is, she welcomes them and treats them like they are part of her family member. Candace has the special knack of sensing when a student is struggling, and gives them a few minutes to calm down. After she addresses their health concern, she often offers to walk them to class and let's them know they are welcome to come back if they are have any further concerns. Candace is also a pleasure to work with as she is very friendly and genuine. She will ask for our opinions and ideas when something new arises to make sure we handle the situation in the best manner possible. In addition, she is an excellent baker and shares her goodies with us, which makes a difficult day just a little better. Candace quite often works after her scheduled day is over which really shows how dedicated she is to our students. She is definitely a Superstar School Nurse and deserves to recognized for all she does. She is an asset to our district and we are blessed to have her as a staff member.
