Nominated by Allie Nicholson
It is with deep admiration and respect that I nominate Candi Mizell. Candi has an unwavering dedication to school nursing, tirelessly supports fellow school nurses, and has shown an extreme amount of resilience this year specifically. Her many years of service at Central Cabarrus High School have led her to become the cornerstone of health services in her community. Her clinical knowledge, calm leadership, and compassionate demeanor have impacted countless students, staff, and families. Beyond the walls of her own clinic, she serves as a trusted mentor to fellow school nurses, generously sharing her time, wisdom, and encouragement. This past year has brought extraordinary personal challenges for Candi, as she experienced the profound loss of her mother. She also embraced the full-time caregiver role to her grandchildren, one being a newborn baby. Through it all, she continues to serve her students, school, and community with clinical excellence and dedication. To know Candi is to witness the embodiment of resilience, leadership, and compassion. It is an honor to call her a colleague and friend.
